Scientists developed a novel-video based behavioral analysis system for long-term behavioral tracking of multiple mice. With this software, they discovered that social isolation of male mice during adolescence leads to impaired social proximity in adulthood, and that both individual behavioral traits and those of cagemates influence social proximity. In addition, they found that low reactive behavior of other cagemates also influence individual social proximity in male mice.
