I enjoyed the article on physician burnout.1 I would like to resonate the thoughts therein and thank Yates for the powerful simplicity of them in terms of impact and results. A few issues were stressed and, when applied, would go a long way to reducing burnout. In particular, improving the work-life balance by reducing the time at work and increasing the time at home and away from work. There are 3 levels of interventions for mitigating burnout: the health care industry, health care organizations, and the individual.
