Kaposi’s sarcoma occurring in HIV infection controlled on HAART

A 64 year-old man of sub-Saharan origin presented to clinic for evaluation. He described a twelve-month history of unilateral left lower leg oedema since return from holiday in Sudan and was managed empirically by Infectious Diseases as lymphatic filariasis. Despite negative filarial IgG, treatment with diethylcarbamazine and albendazole was started, but did not lead to improvement.
