Imaging in chest disease

Chest radiography and computed tomography (CT) are central to achieving a diagnosis in patients with respiratory disease. Chest radiography is freely available and reproducible, but CT offers superior spatial and contrast resolution for the diagnosis of more subtle findings. This review article summarizes the most common respiratory disorders that require imaging assessment, while elucidating current developments in thoracic imaging techniques.
