Graduate Medical Education Has Been Threatened

Every year thousands of college graduates embark on the taxing journey of medical school, acquiring hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt along the way, and sacrificing many years of their young adulthood to achieve their dream of becoming a physician. The journey is difficult, with the goal of matching into a residency training program, an educational experience and job that pays much less than minimum wage. Some fear the threat of not matching into a residency program because matching is not a guarantee, while most assume that they will, indeed match, if they came from a decent medical school with a good academic record.
