A 35-year-old man presented with acute onset of persistent, localized, and nonradiating left-sided lower abdominal pain, 12 hours prior to presentation in October 2018. He denied vomiting, diarrhea, blood-stained stools, or hematuria. Physical examination revealed body temperature of 37.0°C, blood pressure of 162/118 mmHg, pulse rate of 85 beats/min, respiratory rate of 16 breaths/min, and SpO2 of 98% on room air. Palpation of the left lower abdomen revealed rebound tenderness, and Carnett’s sign was negative.
