A previously healthy 21 year-old woman was transferred due to refractory abdominal pain, rash and joint swelling of 1 month’s duration. She initially presented in her home community with acute, cramping abdominal pain that was accompanied by nausea and diarrhea, which was occasionally bloody. She also noticed intermittent fevers and was diagnosed with gastroenteritis.
